I Actually Don’t Solve People’s Problems

People are often asking me how can we solve a problem using the Solution Focused Approach if we are not focused on the details of the problem, or even talking about the problem at all. Since this is such a key idea in SFBT it is critical that professionals understand how problems are solved when using this approach, this video is about how I recently got a lesson from an emergency room doctor.

Thanks for sharing! What a perfect way to help people understand what we do. Hope your foot is feeling better!

Thanks Angela! I am getting the stitches out today!

  • Valerie Wise

This is the most salient and clear explanation of what we do. Great analogy. You found a SF understanding even while you were in pain.

Thanks Valerie! I am so glad you liked it!

  • Samantha Buettner

Great perspective! Would you agree that we don’t plant the seeds but instead help water the seeds that the client already owns?

    • Elliott Connie

Yep, I would agree with that for sure.
