An SFBT Challenge

For some reason many people in our field struggle to believe that the Solution Focused Approach does not work as a stand alone approach. This stance drives me crazy because so many professionals hold it even though there is a mountain of research to the contrary. So, I made video of my thoughts on this subject and I have small challenge for you. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for this great video Elliott. It expresses so clearly that SFBT is a way of being not a bunch of techniques that you mix up with other techniques. I know people have problems with silences and ” I don’t know” answers. I think it was Dr Harry Korman who said:”I don’t know” means “shut-up and let me think!” Silence is saying the same.

Hi Di, Thank you so much for your comment. Yes, this approach is so much more than a collection of techniques. I agree with Harry!
