Everyone Needs A Support System

Here’s the honest truth; no one on this planet is truly “Self-Made”. No one gets far without a team they can rely on. That goes in every single facet of life. Let’s talk about why having a solid support system is crucial for everyone’s success.

All right. You can probably tell from the darkness, and the crickets, that it’s really, really late at night. And I’m out here on a walk, and I’m thinking about a very specific thing related to success, and I want to share it with you. Nobody succeeds alone. And I think very often people think, “I’m self-made, and I did it on my own.” They think that they have to be successful on their own, and no one is there for them. And if they rely on somebody, it’s unhealthy, or it’s not good. But I have such an amazing team.

I would never have been where I am if not for my team. The reason I’m out here so late making this video is because my cameraman has been on vacation. He’s been away. And we forgot to make this week’s video. I’ve been making a video every week since 2016, and we forgot to make this week’s video before we went on vacation. And he was on vacation, and let me know, he was like, “I can’t edit it.” And then he sent me a message today and he was like, “I can edit it, but if you send it to me really late.”

And I was like, “Cool.” So now I’m out here, it’s like midnight, and I’m about to send this video to him and he’s gonna edit it, he’s gonna upload it. That’s why you’re able to watch it, because he edited it and he uploaded it. And I find myself so filled with gratitude, and think about this idea that we never get anywhere without support.

We never get anywhere without being someone being there for us. And without someone that we can lean on. There’s no such thing as self-made. There’s no such thing as being so independent that you reject everything. I heard a quote one time that says, if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. So just think about that as you’re pursuing your goals, as you are working with clients, and you are their support system, as you are trying to achieve anything,

I want you to do two things… Accept the help that people offer to you, and be grateful for those around you. Because none of us will would ever accomplish anything without amazing people there supporting our dreams.
